Copenhagen

In honor of the energy summit in Copenhagen, I’d like to make a few comments.

1) Do we really know that carbon is the cause of ‘global warming’? Show me the tests please. Wait, you can’t test it. So, it must be hypothesis. Great, establishment one: Carbon as the cause of global warming is a hypothesis (educated guess). On the basis of a hypothesis (educated guess), you would like to limit the amount of carbon that I use (cap and trade)? That’s not nice. Where’s the basis for that? Oh yeah, the hypothesis (educated guess).

2) We all know that global warming is a serious problem. So maybe we should also focus our efforts on helping the other planets in our solar system that are heating up as well. Go ahead, Google “mars global warming” and see what you get. But wait, they don’t have human populations on them.

3) Two inventions we already have that could help the situation: The first is the air-conditioner. If everyone would kindly buy one and set it outside on high, it might cool down the earth a few degrees. The second is the Sharper Image air filter. That thing cleans the air like nobody’s business. Everyone should also purchase at least one of those to run continuously outside as well.

Don’t get me wrong, I do believe we should be careful in our stewardship of God’s beautiful creation. But seriously, take a hard look at ALL the evidence. I don’t deny there is some ice meltage and that polar bears have their photo-op on floating pieces of ice for emotional appeal, but this propaganda has been bought hook, line, and sinker by many people.

Ultimately God is in control. He does let some bad things happen, but I hope that one of them isn’t a stupid tax that the government can pull from me for driving to work every day. If I knew they might use it wisely, instead of dismissing the deficit, I might be more willing to give it to them.

Maybe we’ll see that new currency sometime soon, if the dollar is killed enough.
