Thanks to GFS, I was able to get my hands on a great set of cream vintage (underwound) guitar pickups for my Fender Squier Stratocaster. I’m totally excited about it. And the best part is that they were only $18!

This is my project guitar, and it could definitely use a new set of pickups. The original Squier Affinity pickups aren’t that bad, but I was hoping to have a different sound. I’m a huge fan of John Mayer, and he sports a Strat (or two) with the vintage wound.
I recorded a before sound with my Blue Snowball, through my Ampeg J-20 and am excited to get everything installed. I also was able to order a complete wiring upgrade with potentiometers and smooth PCB 5-way switch. I plan to shield the interior while it’s torn down as well.
Wish me luck!
